Health and Safety

Health and Safety at Tredington.

Health and safety is the responsibility of every member of the school community and all site users. The school responds to the demands of this area through the combined use of policy, procedure, risk assessment and education. Staff are vigilant and pro-active. Children are taught to consider their own safety and make appropriate choices in line with our school rule – Be Good Be Safe. All site users are supplied with Health and Safety information and are asked to report any concerns to the Headteacher or school administrator. The school Health and Safety policy is available on the school website – paper copies are available from the Admin. office. The LA carries out an annual Health and Safety Audit of the school along with a significant number of annual equipment checks which are implemented by appropriate companies or agencies e.g. outdoor play equipment checks, PAT tests, Fire Equipment and alarm checks. . Staff are trained to use equipment and carry out various checks to monitor health and safety standards. They also receive First Aid training at a range of levels with annual asthma and epi-pen update training. The school has a trained Educational Visits co-coordinator. Risk Assessments are stored in the school office. The Headteacher and Governors are responsible for implementing and monitoring Health & Safety policies and procedures in school.
