Admissions Policy

We very much welcome the opportunity of meeting new and prospective parents and children and hold two special open days in the Autumn term.  You are encouraged to attend these days but appointments can be made at other times of the year by contacting the school office.  At these visits parents are shown around the school, have our aims and organisation explained and any questions answered.   All new pupils are given a warm welcome.  We have an induction programme which supports them as they start school. This makes, what can be a difficult time, as positive as possible for pupils and parents.

In common with the Local Authority policy, Reception children are admitted in the September following their fourth birthday.  Parents are contacted before this time and arrangements are made for the children to visit the school several times before entry in September.

Reception children attend morning only for the first two weeks and then full-time subject to mutual agreement between teacher and parent.  Occasionally a child may attend part-time for a longer period.

Should the school be oversubscribed the Local Authority Admissions Policy is strictly adhered to.  The current criteria can be viewed online at www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/schooladmissions or contact the Admissions Team at Gloucestershire County Council on (01452) 425407.
